5 FREE TO PLAY MULTIPLAYER PS4 GAMES!
1. APEX LEGENDS
Similar to: Fortnite, Player Unkown Battlegrounds, Overwatch
So Apex Legends came out of nowhere and took us by storm. It is a free to play battle royale game which can be seen as Fortnite's rival. In the game, there are various characters who all possess special abilities (healing, shields, teleportation) which can be crucial to your team's victory. Just like Fortnite, you start off in an airship but in teams of three. The jumpmaster (this can be passed from player to player) then chooses where to land and teams scurry to find weapons, gear and ammo. The last team left standing, wins!
Apex is super fun and addictive and there are cool aspects of the game such as the ability to heal or revive a teammate or the cool finishers characters can use to kill an already dying enemy. Also, if the cartoon-like graphics of Fortnite aren't your thing, you would appreciate the more life like style presented in Apex. So if battle royales and guns get you hyped, then definitely check this game out!

2. BRAWLHALLA
Similar to: Super Smash Bros
So if you are a big Smash Bros fan like me you need to try Brawhalla. It's a free to play platform fighting game that is endless hours of fun and excitement. There are tons of characters to choose from and different maps, modes and servers to ensure that you have nonstop fun. Characters use various weapons ranging from guns, scythes, swords etc. When you first start the game you are only able to use the free characters in rotation for that particular week but you can easily unlock others by playing and earning gold.
Brawlhalla also has some pretty epic crossover character skins, some of these include favorites from shovel knight, hellboy and adventure time's finn, jake and princess bubblegum. So what are you waiting for? Go download this awesome 2D fighter and start wacking your friends off ledges!😂😂

3. DAUNTLESS
Similar to: Monster Hunter, Dark Souls
Dauntless is a free to play rpg game very similar to Monster Hunter. In this game you can team up with other players to kill behemoths but it isn't that simple. There are varying elemental behemoths as well as gear. Your choices greatly affect your damage and overall team's survivability.
Dauntless comes with daily missions which give rewards such as gold, orbs (which contain gems needed for extra stats) and materials. These materials are needed in order to upgrade your gear. There are several types of weapons including swords, pikes and guns and each weapon comes with special abilities that can be used against the behemoths.
Besides gear upgrades, reaction time is one of the most important aspects of the game, learning behemoths' attacks and how to avoid them is what sets apart victory and a a team wipeout. Dauntless is super fun and honestly requires a little more time as you never know when a behemoth is going to die..did I mention that? There is no life bar for monsters so a battle can take 5 minutes or 25! You never know. Nonetheless, it is a super fun game for you and friends to check out.

4. TERA
Similar to: Neverwinter, Blade and Soul, Black Desert Online, ArcheAge
So this isn't the first time that I have mentioned Tera on my blog. It is a free to play mmorpg that I have been enjoying for years. The idea is as simple as it gets, pick a character, grind, level up, dungeons etc. The original thing about Tera though is all the side events and different battleground modes which give you a break from the old rise and grind. Another great thing about Tera is the increasing difficulty of dungeons. They really keep you on your toes from beginning to end, especially the higher level ones!
The class and race options are so varying (I literally think there are like 10 or 12 classes now) and so much fun to play or team up with,or if you wanna try your hand out at pvp then there are modes for that too. Although the armor used by the characters are usually quite beautiful, the options for outfits and skins are endless as well.
So if you and a group of friends are looking for a game to really get into, where you can help each other complete missions and dungeons or maybe kick ass against other players, then this is definitely the game for you!

5.SMITE
Similar to: League of Legends, DOTA
So if you are into league of legends and DOTA but have given up that PC life, you may want to try your hand at Smite. Smite isn't your typical battle arena game, almost everything is a skill shot so you know...it takes skill haha (I kid). It places an emphasis on your ability to land those skill shots as well as dodging attacks and engaging in combat. The Gods( the champs you can choose in game) vary in roles and abilities and the options are endless.
Smite also provides various game modes to keep you entertained. There is Conquest which is the usual 3 lane, 5v5 tower attack and base attack to win mode but there are also other modes such as Arena (the goal is to bring enemy ticket count to 0) , Assault (instead of three lanes there is only one), Siege (where you try to control juggernauts in order to push the lane) and a few others.
Smite is an awesome free to play game that may take some time at first in order to get the hang of it but once you do, you won't be able to stop! Check it out!
