ANIMES THAT ARE LIKE YOUR FAVOURITE TV SERIES
So you're a super anime fan and you think it's the greatest thing and it's only normal that you want to share your love for it with your friends and family....but....they are just so against it. They tell you that they don't wanna watch those Japanese cartoons because they seem childish. You finally convince them to watch one but now you're stuck, which one should you choose? Hopefully this post can help you! Here, I'm gonna recommend some animes that are similar to some super popular and well loved TV series.
1. Akame ga Kill - Game of Thrones
I like to describe Akame ga Kill as the Game of Thrones of anime...I'll let you think about why that is. Both shows involve fighting for something that they believe in with both having strong male and female leads. Both also touch on topics such as romance, unexpected deaths, bonds and betrayal, sibling relationships etc. I guarantee that both possess similar elements of surprise that will definitely keep any viewer hooked.
2. High School of the Dead/ Tokyo Ghoul/Attack on Titan - The Walking Dead
3. Fruits Basket/Ouran High School Host Club - New Girl
These all deal with a female lead and her daily relationships with her predominantly male friends. Apart from friendship, these all have elements of romance and humor! They all show the struggles that one can go through when being the only female or when feelings start to develop amongst friends all while taking on a generally funny approach.
4. Death Note - Dexter/ CSI/ Law & Order/ NCIS
Basically all of these are centered around solving crimes. Although Death Note focuses on solving one particular crime, it still holds many similarities to the other series. On one end it has a psychological aspect like Dexter and on the other end, the investigative and detective nature of the other series. If your friend is really into crime like series, I highly recommend Death Note, it will definitely keep them on their toes and interested from beginning to end.
5. The Devil is a Part-Timer -Supernatural/ 2 Broke Girls
I know, I know...what a weird combination!...just...trust me on this one. All of these have to go down as some of the funniest series in history. TDIAPT deals with things like fights between demons and angels in such a humorous way just like Supernatural but on the other hand you can see the struggles of working in the fast food business and trying to make a life in a world completely different from what you're used to just like in 2 Broke Girls. Just give it a shot, promise you won't be disappointed!
6. LoveLive!/ K-on - Glee
