PS4 GAMES THAT TAKE LONG TO BEAT AND CAN GET YOU THROUGH THE QUARANTINE!

So as I'm writing this, people all over the world (myself included) are in lock-down due to the corona-virus. If you're like me, some days we are so productive and then there are other days where we just wanna do nothing, just watch Netflix, sleep or play video games.

I've had a lot of friends go on a spending splurge in the PS store, looking for the next game to keep them entertained these next couple of weeks (or months...😞) but only to beat the game in a few days or just become bored of them. That's where the inspiration for this post came. I wanted to give you suggestions of a few games that should be able to keep you occupied and interested for a little while..so let's go!

Kingdom Hearts Saga

Synopsis: Kingdom Hearts is a crossover of various Disney properties based in a fictional universe. The series centers on the main character, Sora, and his journey and experiences with various Disney, Square Enix and Pixar characters. The heroes of the series clash against the multiple incarnations of the primary antagonist, Xehanort, throughout the series.

So, if you're a big Disney and Square Enix fan and looking for a that nostalgic game, you can get the Kingdom Hearts Saga. You can opt for Kingdom Hearts 1.5, 2.5 reMix ,2.8 and 3.
You know what's even better? There is a bundle of KH 1.5, 2.5 and 2.8 called Kingdom Hearts the Story so Far so you can get those three together and then continue the story with KH3!

Or....even better, Sony has released a bundle with all 3 games!!

Final Fantasy Saga

Synopsis: Well to be honest, it is really hard to write a synopsis about Final Fantasy because for starters, there are so many versions and types ranging from tactical type FF, RPG FF, MMORPG FF and much more. The general idea is usually to defeat a particular evil using various skills (and sometimes various characters)

If i had to narrow it down to which FF to get, I'd say FFXII The Zodiac Age, Final FantasyVII Remake or  FFXIV: Online.
Keep in mind that FFXIV: Online is an MMORPG that requires an initial payment and monthly subscription of around 13€ upon level 35.

Resident Evil Saga

Synopsis: The main story line of the games primarily concerns a group of individuals who battle against the Umbrella Corporation as well as characters in relation to them who have developed the T-virus which, among other things, can transform humans into zombies as well as mutate other creatures into horrifying monsters.

At some point all of us has played Resident Evil or at least seen the movie. The game is entertaining and keeps you on the edge of your seat and is a must for any PS owner. You can play all the way from Resident Evil 1-7 and then play the Resident Evil 2 Remake.

*** There is a Resident Evil 4-5-6 Bundle which you can get here

Assassin's Creed Saga

Synopsis: It depicts a centuries-old struggle, now and then, between the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Templars, who desire peace through control. The series features historical fiction, science fiction and characters, intertwined with real-world historical events and figures. For the majority of time players control an Assassin in the past history, while they also play as Desmond Miles or an Assassin Initiate in the present day, who hunt down their Templar targets.

Like many games on the list, Assassin's Creed has sooooooo many games out, it's impossible to choose which one. If I had to narrow it down to three, I'd probably say get Assassin's Creed 1 (ok and maybe 2), Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and my personal favorite Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

There are also a variety of different combo packs that you should check out before you make a decision. I can't even begin to link them here so I'll just leave a link to the PS store options!

Red Dead Redemption 2

Synopsis: The story is set in 1899 in a fictionalized representation of the Western,Midwestern  and Southern United States and follows outlaw Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang. Arthur must deal with the decline of the Wild West whilst attempting to survive against government forces, rival gangs, and other adversaries. The story also follows fellow gang member John Marston, the protagonist of Red Dead Redemption.

It's such a fantastic game that has received nothing but praise and tons of awards. It was even one of the best selling games of 2018, so all of us can't be wrong haha

Dark Souls III

Synopsis: Set in the Kingdom of Lothric, a bell has rung to signal that the First Flame, responsible for maintaining the Age of Fire, is dying out. As has happened many times before, the coming of the Age of Dark produces the undead: cursed beings that rise up after death. The Age of Fire can be prolonged with the linking of the fire, a ritual in which great lords and heroes sacrifice their souls to rekindle the First Flame. However, Prince Lothric, the chosen linker for this age, has abandoned his duty and instead chooses to watch the flame die from afar. The bell is the last hope for the Age of Fire, resurrecting previous Lords of Cinder (heroes who linked the flame in past ages) to attempt to link the fire again; however, all but one Lord shirk their duty.

Sounds intriguing eh??? Dark Souls can be described as entertaining, creepy, hair pulling and most people will agree DOWN RIGHT HARD AF! That's the reason it made the list, it's challenging and just takes a long time to beat especially if you aren't used to these types of games.

Monster Hunter: World

Synopsis: In the game, the player takes the role of a Hunter, tasked to hunt down and either kill or trap monsters that roam in one of several environmental spaces. If successful, the player is rewarded through loot consisting of parts from the monster and other elements that are used to craft weapons and armor, amongst other equipment. The game's core loop has the player crafting appropriate gear to be able to hunt down more difficult monsters, which in turn provide parts that lead to more powerful gear. Players may hunt alone or in a group of up to four players via the game's online multiplayer.

Can you imagine setting off to slay monsters with the choice to do it solo or teamed up? The game takes long to beat because some of the monsters are difficult and there are tons of them. Did I mention that they have no health bar so you can't really tell how long it will take for you to kill them, you can only tell when they become weakened.

Elder Scrolls

So before I get into the synopsis, I just want to point out that I am going to talk about 2 versions of  Elder Scrolls; Elder Scrolls V Skyrim and Elder Scrolls Online.

Elder Scrolls V Skyrim

Synopsis: The game's main story revolves around the player's character, the Dragonborn, on their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. The game is set 200 years after the events of Oblivion and takes place in Skyrim, the northernmost province of Tamriel. Over the course of the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills.

Do you guys remember the meme "then I took an arrow in the knee" ? Well it comes from this game. When it came out, Skyrim took the gaming world by storm and thousands of people hooked.

Elder Scrolls Online

Synopsis:Gameplay is mostly non-linear, with a mixture of quests, random events, and free-roaming exploration of the world.Players must choose one of six classes when creating their character: Dragonknight, Sorcerer, Nightblade, Templar, Warden, or Necromancer. Each class gives the player various different attacks, spells, and passive effects. The game has other character choices beyond those of race and class, such as the player character also being able to become either a vampire or a werewolf, each of which grants its own skill tree. There are seven different crafting skill lines: Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Clothier, Enchanting, Woodworking, Provisioning, and Jewelry Crafting.

So basically your standard MMORPG game but with a huge map and quests that can keep you occupied for months...ok weeks 😅
